How do we have unity in a world of such adversity?
There are those who come into our lives under what seems to be false pretenses. I have found that regardless of what their original motive or agenda may have been, through love, we can still be a friend to them. We can teach through our own example by demonstrating this love, patience and the many other fruits of the Spirit, given to us. Praying for His will in our lives, living by His example everyday, practicing what we preach, and of course doing what we'd expect "others to do unto us," this is when we'll see the fruit of these choices.
Proverbs 16:9 states, "Man's mind plans his way, but God directs his steps." It is accepting people where they are and knowing that only God can change them.
The spirit of Christmas is given each day in every act of kindness that we show one another. It's in how we love our families, our wives, our children, and in how we treat a perfect stranger. Peace on earth will come, when we choose to live everyday as if it were Christmas.
Jesus is God's perfect gift.
We can choose to share this gift, every day of the year.
